ABSTRACT
On 24 of February 2022 Russian troops once again invaded Ukrainian territory, following the annexation of Crimea in 2014. Unable to seize the country, the invaders began systematic, criminal actions, murdering people, bombing their homes and the country's infrastructure, destroying monuments and plundering works of art. The war effort significantly hampered scientific activities, including those relating to architecture and urban planning. Many scholars emigrated, lost access to research apparatus, libraries and archive sources or materials of their own. Many were forced to abandon research in favour of other activities, more necessary under wartime conditions but far removed from their professional skills. Wishing to express solidarity with the representatives of the architectural and urban planning community in Ukraine, the Editorial Board of Architecture and Urban Planning Quarterly opens the pages of this issue of the magazine to them.
Слава Україні!
